Affirmative Prayer Practice

Affirmative Statements for Seven-Steps of Prayer

Relax - Step One

Part 1 - Affirm To Your Body

You now relax and let go.

You now relax and let go all tension, stress and strain.

I am now relaxing in mind and body.

I now relax and let go.

I now relax and let go all tension, stress and strain.

I am now relaxing in mind and body. Yes, I relax and let go

Part 2 - Affirm To Your Emotions

Be still and know that I am God.

Be still and know that God is present.

I relax, let go and let God.

I am free from tension, stress and strain.

I surrender myself entirely to God.

I am at peace in mind and in body.

From the tip of my head to the soles of my feet, I feel relaxed.

I am calm, serene, relaxed.

I feel God's peace filling my mind and body.

I rest in God's goodness

Part 3 - Breathe

Just breathe. . . Spirit, I know you are as close to me as my very next breath.

Part 4 - Peace

Peace, Be Still

I feel the peace of God.

I rest in God's peace.

Peace, Sweet Peace

Release - Step 2

I release all my thoughts and cares to the Divine Presence Within Me.

I let go of all feelings, except those of God.

I Feel Free -- I AM FREE!!"

I let God heal you in His own way.

I free you to the perfect solution.

I am relaxed and I let go of all thoughts of judgement and condemnation that I may be holding against myself or others.

I can let go and forgive myself lovingly for I feel the love of God filling my entire being.

I am grateful for God's love and care.

I forgive others and let go of any feeling other than love, that enters my thoughts.

I forgive with the forgiving love of Spirit.

I let go! I release all concerns to God.

Request - Step 3

I am worthy of all the good that God has in store for me!

I put the past behind me and accept love, joy and harmony into my life experience!

I forgive and allow God's healing power to enter my mind, body and all my affairs!

I am prosperous; I have an unlimited source of supply.

I am healthy and perfectly whole in body, mind and spirit.

I am peaceful; I am a radiating center of calm and serenity.

Let there be peace and contentment in every area of my life.

Let there be a consciousness of God's presence in my every waking moment.

Let there be harmony in all my relationships.

I am open to the awareness of God's healing power, working continually in me;

I acknowledge Spirit's divine guidance working through me, guiding me to the perfect answer for my every need.

I acknowledge the fulfillment of all my needs.

I acknowledge the awareness of Your Presence which is continually guiding my every step.

Realize - Step 4

I am trusting

I believe in a power greater than myself.

I realize that, of myself,  I can do little to change my life, but with God, all things are possible.

I know that God knows my needs before I ask; and I trust in Spirit, for God's will for me is always good.

I let go and let God.

You know what I need before I even ask.

Oneness - Step 5

I feel Your Presence around me and within me.

I acknowledge my oneness with You.

It is not I but Your loving Presence within me which does all.

I feel Your love as it fills my entire being.

I open myself to the presence of Spirit and feel the love and peace of God.

I know that God loves me just the way that I am.

I am so loved and I feel that love for others in my life.

Silence - Step 6

I am Listening.

Gratitude - Step 7

Thank you, Father-Mother God.

I am so very grateful for your continual presence.

I return to my world refreshed and renewed.

I am open and receptive to your love and guidance and I go forth to do your work.

Thank you spirit for this new day and for the love and guidance you express through me.

I am trusting and I let go, placing myself and loved ones in your perfect care.

Thank you Father-Mother-God for your continual love and care.

DAILY PRAYER PRACTICE

Upon Awakening

When you first awaken in the morning, become aware of your prayer consciousness, and say the following prayer of gratitude. If you feel more comfortable creating your own gratitude prayer, please feel free to do so. It’s the intention, not the verbiage, that is important:

THANK YOU, SPIRIT, FOR THIS NEW DAY AND FOR THE LOVE AND GUIDANCE YOU EXPRESS THROUGH ME. I AM TRUSTING AND I LET GO, PLACING MYSELF AND LOVED ONES IN YOUR PERFECT CARE. ·

Make it a practice to start and end each day with gratitude. You will find many times during the day the thoughts with which you began your day will suddenly pop into your mind.  When they do, make it a practice of saying, "Thank You, Spirit."

Daily Prayer Time

If you are not already doing so, begin the practice of daily prayer time -- that special time when you are alone with your Creator.
  • To the best of your ability, quiet your mind and heart by breathing peacefully.
  • If you find your mind is drifting away, or "things" are traveling madly through your mind, try counting your breaths. When an unwanted thought comes forth unbidden, bless it and begin again counting your breaths.
  • Continue this practice until you become peaceful and can think of peace, instead of the counting of your breathing. Many times this can be done by repeating the word "peace" until it becomes a part of you.
  • As you are quieted, just listen -- listen to your breathing, listen to the quiet.
  • Stay with this as long as you are comfortable and quieted.
  • When you are ready to leave this state, finish with, "Thank You, Spirit; I know you are always with me." If you feel directed or more comfortable to use other words, please do so.
