And this includes just about everyone in our community...Join us on Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2012, from 2:00
to 4:30, for our new Volunteer Training. Whether or not you are currently volunteering, you are invited to come to this
workshop on volunteering as a spiritual practice. There
will be discussions, exercises, and opportunities to assist you in recognizing and integrating spiritual awareness in all
activities, as we become volunteers who “Follow Our Hearts and Radiate Our Light.” The training will be
mostly experiential, as we practice evoking the sacred intentionally, moment by moment, in simple everyday tasks and thus
experience service grounded in Spirit and joy. |
At Unity of Walnut Creek, volunteering is a conscious and joyful spiritual practice.
In acts as simple as weeding and cleaning you can bless our community. Every act of service brings value and connection with
the spiritual intention to leave this world better than we found it.
By allowing Spirit to flow through us to others, we at Unity hold volunteering as a path to deepening friendships,
contributing our energies, and developing new skills. It is a path to joy.
Whether you prefer working with people or behind a computer, whether you have time to organize
an event, be a greeter at Sunday services, or engage with our children – your skills
and talents are both needed and appreciated at Unity of Walnut Creek.
Special Volunteer Opportunity The Unity of Walnut
Creek website is going through a major transformation. We are converting our current site to a new platform. There will be
a review of all the content and then it will need to be transferred to the new site. Anyone with editing skills and/or technical
talents, as well as people that are willing to copy and paste content are welcome to help us complete this important project.
We plan to go live with the new site in February 2012. To join us for this exciting

Volunteers are also needed to help update our current
website. You can do this from home, no advanced technology skills needed. (Phone training; easy to learn.) These
skills will also prepare you to update the new website, as the text editor is nearly the same. To assist with the current website, contact: Norma Fox
